Hotkeys for top SKUs

F1 through F12 mapped to the items you sell most. A single keypress adds one unit to the cart. For supermarkets it's milk, eggs, bread. For tile shops it's a default adhesive and grout. Saves the SKU search entirely.

Type-ahead with phonetic match

“Vitrified” should also match “vitryfied”. We use a phonetic index so the cashier doesn't have to remember the exact spelling.

One-key save-and-new

Pressing Enter on the totals row prints the bill, opens the cash drawer, and starts a new bill. No mouse movement, no ‘are you sure?’ dialog.

Print queues, not sync waits

The bill prints to the receipt printer immediately. The GST e-invoice generation happens asynchronously — the customer is already walking out by the time the IRN is fetched.

Quick customer lookup with last-4

Type the last four digits of the phone number to pull up a customer. If they exist, it pre-fills name, GSTIN, credit limit. If they don't, you can skip or add them post-bill.

None of these are revolutionary individually. Together they're the difference between a 12-second bill and a 32-second bill.
